As I wait for some black gesso to dry...

I have been thinking about the origins of the artistic direction I've taken over the years. Science and the mysteries of the universe have always inspired and intrigued me. Hence, this piece completed in 2009. "In The Beginning" originated from my thoughts on the Big Bang. I imagined elements like helium and hydrogen colliding with each other creating that wondrous force. Viewers can see the initial styling of the filaments that are present in most of my current work. At this point in time, I had believed they were akin to primordial chaos or seeds of our existence.
